Meet The Team

Matt Wacher joined Morningstar in January 2019. As Chief Investment Officer for Asia Pacific, Matt leads the investment team and develops Morningstar Investment Management’s capabilities and thought leadership in the region, ensuring excellent commercial outcomes.
With over 30 years of industry experience. Matt’s investment and business expertise spans Investment management, family office and superannuation, across traditional and alternative assets, in Australia, Japan, and the United Kingdom. He has a proven track record of delivering excellent risk-adjusted returns above industry benchmarks alongside many commercial successes.

Bianca joined Morningstar Investment Management Australia Limited in February 2006 and has over 23 years’ experience in the financial services industry. Bianca is co-Portfolio Manager of the Multi-Asset Real Return Funds and Separately Managed Account portfolios and is responsible for managing the multi-manager Australian and International Equities portfolios, and Morningstar’s Global Listed Infrastructure portfolio. Her responsibilities include portfolio management, portfolio construction, investment selection and research. Bianca is a member of the Australia Investment Committee.

Bryce joined Morningstar Investment Management Australia Limited in July 2015 as Portfolio Manager and is responsible for the management of Morningstar’s Multi-Asset portfolios. His responsibilities include capital markets research, investment strategy, portfolio construction and management to achieve competitive investment returns and better portfolio outcomes for clients. Bryce is a member of the Asset Allocation Sub-Committee, Portfolio Construction Sub-Committee, and Manager and Security Selection Sub-Committee.

Michael is responsible for leading the Morningstar Institutional Investments team in Australia and developing Morningstar’s investment capability provided through Outsourced CIO (OCIO) solutions and the Morningstar Multi-Manager Portfolios. He has over 24 years of experience in the financial services and investment management industry. Michael joined Morningstar in 2016 and spent 8 years as a key member and leader within the Manager Research team, heading equities asset class research in Australia.

Joel joined Morningstar Investment Management Australia Limited in March 2025 as Portfolio Manager and is responsible for the management of Morningstar’s Multi-Asset portfolios. His responsibilities include portfolio management, investment strategy research and portfolio construction. He was previously at Morningstar between September 2014 and June 2018 as a Senior Investment Analyst.

Joel has over 15 years’ experience in financial services, working across asset owners, financial planning firms, consultants and investment managers. Prior to joining Morningstar, Joel was Portfolio Strategist at Mercer where he specialised in portfolio construction and investment strategy research. Joel also spent four years at BT Financial Group, where he was a Portfolio Manager responsible for the management of BT’s Separately Managed Account portfolios

Ameya joined Morningstar Investment Management Australia Limited in November 2015 as Senior Investment Analyst. He was promoted to Associate Portfolio Manager in April 2019. In this role, Ameya assists with researching key issues in the fixed income markets as well as the management of Morningstar’s Multi-Asset and Multi-Manager Income portfolios. He has over 13 years’ industry experience.

Dennis joined Morningstar Australasia Pty Limited as Associate Data Research Analyst in June 2016 and was promoted to Data Research Analyst in October 2017. He subsequently moved to the Associate Investment Analyst role at Morningstar Investment Management Australia Limited in August 2018. He was promoted to Investment Analyst in May 2020. In this role, he works closely with the multi-asset portfolio managers primarily in assisting with managing cash flows and asset class research. Dennis has over 3 year’s industry experience.

Noah joined Morningstar Investment Management Australia Limited in 2019. Working initially as a research analyst in the Multi-Asset portfolio team, he is now an Associate Portfolio Manager in the Systematic Equity team. In this role he manages daily cash flows and monitors the portfolio while contributing to the ongoing quantitative research and development of the systematic investment process.

Vesna joined Morningstar Investment Management Australia Limited in June 2015 as Associate Portfolio Manager and is a member of the Manager and Security Selection Sub-Committee. Vesna specialises in Multi-Asset portfolios and has over 20 years’ industry experience. Her skills include Multi-Sector asset allocation, investment strategy implementation, manager research, and investment consulting.

Matthew joined Morningstar Australasia Pty Limited as Senior Manager Research Analyst in August 2015. He has conducted research across all asset classes, was a key public speaker on manager research topics and was the head of global equity research before joining the Manager Selection Services team. In that role Matthew provided consulting services to clients in areas of investment committee participation, APL design and maintenance, model portfolio design and portfolio management across managed accounts.

Matthew subsequently moved to the Associate Portfolio Manager role at Morningstar Investment Management Australia Limited in April 2022. In this role, he constructs multi-asset portfolios, provides investment consulting, conducts asset class research, and undertakes manager research.

Iain joined Morningstar Investment Management Australia Limited in August 2014. He is responsible for the monitoring and management of exposures in managed funds and oversees the Portfolio & Risk Analytics team. Iain is also a member of the Asia Pacific Investment Policy Committee, the Portfolio Construction Sub-Committee, the Manager and Security Selection Sub-Committee and chairs the Investment Risk and Analytics Global Best Practice Group.
